Day 4/5: 10.00pm – 2.00pm
James: Exceeding expectations
James Wallach, Solmedia’s Director, concludes our Endurathon with a big bang finishing an incredible 14-hr bike ride to the North Wales coastline. James set off on two wheels at 10pm, navigating his way from Shrewsbury to Holyhead in the dark, cycling an outstanding 173km with an elevation of higher than Snowdon of 1,434 metres, enjoying the beautiful sunrise and Welsh scenery on the way as a reward.
James was our last contender of the Endurathon, bringing our challenge to an end at 2pm Friday 7th June, with a phenomenal accumulative total of 104 hours of physical activity!!

Day 4: 12.00am – 10.00pm
Tyran: Row Row Row
Tyran Wallach is back and is seeking Gold like James Cracknell however this gold is the finish line of the Endurathon. Tyran set sail in his kayak along the River Severn at 12pm, starting in Llandrinio and rowing down the river all the way to Frankwell in Shrewsbury by 10pm. Tyran was accompanied by some familiar faces along the way as Delores and Fabio hopped aboard at 8pm as they headed to victory reaching a total of 10 hours rowing and 41 km. However, most importantly, Tyran’s rowing expedition took Solmedia’s total challege hours to an incredible 90 hours, bringing the Endurathon to an end

Day 4: 9.00am – 1.00pm
Steven: Father & Son
Steven Ramsis is back in the challenge from over the borders in Spain, battling the in 30°C heat and this time he’s brought his dad along with him to take on an 8 mile walk (in the 30°C heat), across 3 villages (in the 30°C heat ) for a total of 3 hours and a half hours (did we mention in the 30°C heat?). Well done Steven and Wagih.
Day 4: 9.00am – 12.00pm
Alfie: Hilltop view
Alfie, another member from our incredible warehouse team, joins the challenge as our third to last contender, walking a fantastic 12.73 km in 3 hours a big greasy lunch was well deserved on his return back to the warehouse, replenishing all those calories he burnt.


Day 4: 8.45am – 9.00am
Delores: Quick Trip
Delores starts her day right with a quick 15 minute morning walk to clear the cobwebs, feeling refreshed and recharged for day ahead at work.
Day 4: 6.00am – 8.45am
Calvin: Hole in one
The challenge is travelling overseas again, as Calvin Joynt, one of Regional Account Manager joins the challenge all the way from Ireland with an early morning 2 hour walk, covering an incredible 8 km and cleverly fitting in a quick round of golf to achieve his amazing 11,000 step count.


Day 3/4: 9.00pm – 6.00am
Nick: Peak Condition
Nick Wallach has rested and recovered from his 12-hour walk on Monday and is at it again with another incredible long walk and this time on his own. Nick started his expedition at the bottom of Church Stretton at 9pm and began climbing the many hills the Longmynd has to offer including, Cordon, Pole Bank, Black Radley and Ragleth Hill. Nick solely walked the equivalent of a marathon completing an outstanding 24.35 miles (57,288 steps) with an elevation of 3,868 ft. Once again Nick set foot in the dark and managed to catch the morning sunrise at the summit before returning back down for 6am, walking a total of 10 hours. Well Done Nick, amazing achievements for such a great cause! Now time to put your feet up and rest!
Day 3: 8.30pm – 9.00pm
Yvonne: Go Team!
Yvonne fears the rain may return after last night’s turn of events for some of the team, so she decided to work out from the comforts of her home while her son Harry cheers on the team, achieving 1.96Km! Well Done Yvonne.

Day 3: 7.00pm – 8.30pm
Darren: Never two-tired
Darren Sheridan, our Technical Service Manager is known for being on to two feet or two knees installing your brand-new shiny laboratory equipment or carrying out servicing and maintenance on your pre-existing equipment however this time he’s two wheels taking on the roads of Shrewsbury. Darren cycled a fantastic 16.86 miles in an hour and a half.
Day 3: 6.00pm – 7.00pm
Neil: Clowning around
Neil Evans, our Warehouse Manager joins the challenge and unwinds from the today’s antics within the warehouse with a lovely evening cycle, pushing away all the daily stresses with every peddle and covering 15.2km of the Shropshire terrain in an hour.

Day 3: 5.00pm – 6.00pm
Steve Ramsis: Welcome to the team
Steve Ramsis, our newest member of the team joined the challenge all the way from Malaga, Spain, putting our weather and Shropshire landscapes to shame, walking an hour in hills of Canillas De Albaida in 30°C heat.

Day 3: 5.15pm – 6.00pm
Ian K & Murphy: Making friends
Ian and Murphy have not had enough, 2 times in one day! Is there a competition going on between Chester and Murphy? The duo set off again completing another 45-minute walk and putting another 3.6 km to thir log.
Murphy even made a friend on the route before zooming home for a well-deserved treat No treats for Ian… back to work!

Day 3: 5.00pm – 5.15pm
Damian: Last ride
Damian clearly won his kickboxing fight last night as he’s back in the challenge again and this time on his bike seeking more success, travelling 3.76km in 15 minutes! What challenge is next Damian… the Tour de France?
Day 3: 2.30pm – 5.00pm
Jack: Long walk home
Jack is back! After recovering from his wobbly legs after his spin class last night he’s stepping away from the fumes and chemicals in the lab and taking in the fresh air walking 10.43km in 2 hours and a half taking in some fantastic Shropshire scenery along the way.


Day 3: 2.00pm – 2.30pm
Gordon Wallach: Leading by example
Gordon Wallach, our longest reign and Director at Solmedia Ltd entered the challenge at 80 years old! Gordon took a leisurely walk around the Quarry. walking a fantastic 1.28 miles in half an hour. We would also like to thank Gordon for his £100 donation, your support to the cause is greatly appreciated.
Day 3: 1.00pm – 2.00pm
Zowie & Chester: Catch of the day
Chester and his human, Zowie set out for another afternoon walk this time he avoided jumping in the water and opted for catching his frisbee, good boy Chester. The pair walked 3.27 miles in an hour.


Day 3: 12.00pm – 1.00pm
Murphy & Ian K : Into the woods
Ian K and his trusted sidekick Murphy are off out again exploring the south of the Country walking through the woods (AKA Murphy’s wonderland) with lots of stick and twigs to play fetch with. They dynamic duo covered 5.31km of woodland accumulating 6690 steps… but what was Murphy’s step count?
Day 3: 12.00am – 12.00pm
Fabio: The Scenic Route
Fabio Wallach takes on Nick and Ayrton in a competition to achieve more miles in another incredible 12-hour walk. Fabio set off in the dark at the early hours of midnight, stumbling along the beaten tracks of Wales, walking a remarkable 44 km (54,722 steps) along the coast starting in Barmouth and enjoying the breath-taking sunrise over the sea along the way. Fabio’s legs carried him all the way to Arthog, then Dolgellau, then back up the Cadiar road and over the hills to find himself in Barmouth again at 12pm. A chocolate sundae was well enjoyed and most deserved at the end of this spectacular adventure. Well done Fabio, commendable efforts!


Day 2: 10.00pm – 12.00am
James: Late night ride
James Wallach, Solmedia’s Director tackles the roads at night and dodges the late-night drivers as he cycles for 2 hours in the dark, covering an amazing 30km around the outskirts of Shrewsbury.
Day 2: 8.00pm – 10.00pm
Jack: In a spin
Jack takes on another challenge swapping his walking boots for the bike but thankfully missed the rain by opting to do it at the gym.
2 hours on a bike is no easy task but jack managed to do it, covering an impressive 43.62km


Day 2: 7.00pm – 8.00pm
Damian: Levelling up
The fight to the finish line is on and Damian brought the gloves to this challenge, quite literally! Damian switched things up an took part in technical exercises pivotal to progressing to his purple belt, twisting back fists, hook kicks and jabs certainly help Damian smash this challenge.
Day 2: 6.00pm – 7.00pm
Tyran: Motivation
Tyran set out for nice evening walk and to then end up going for a swim! Unfortunately Tyran was unable to avoid the rain, leaving him with wet wellies and soggy socks, however he persevered through and completed 3.9 km in an hour.


Day 2: 5.15pm – 6.00pm
Ian K & Murphy: Mans best friend
Ian Kibble our Digital Marketing and Product Development Manager is joining the competition from all the way down in Bristol with his gorgeous companion Murphy as they take an evening walk together with the occasional game of fetch along the way achieving a great 3.88 km in 40 minutes.
…But did Ian take murphy for a walk or did murphy take Ian??
Day 2: 5.00pm – 5.20pm
Mike: Mike ride to finish the day
Mike is back at it again and this time he’s got two wheels with him, cycling back home after a busy day in the warehouse packing up products to send to our customers. Mike cycled as if he was competing the Tour de France cycling 4.77km in just 20 minutes.

Ian Evans: Stepping up
Ian’s legs aren’t worn out yet after all the walking he did yesterday as he managed to fit a nice leisurely walk for an hour achieving another 6682 steps to his log. Although he’s got a few more steps to go to catch up with Nick and Ayrton. The competition is on…
Day 2: 9.00am – 4.00pm
Dave: Operation morning walk
Dave Carruth, our Operations Manager took himself away from problem solving and managing warehouse operation to clear his mind and take in some fresh air walking an amazing 28.7 km over the course of 7 hours taking in the breath-taking landscapes of Shropshire’s countryside along the way.


Day 1&2: 9.00pm – 9.00am
Nick: Night & Day
We are a third of the way through our challenge and what a great finish to our first day and start to our second day with the completion of a 12 hour walk from our Sales Director Nick Wallach accompanied by a familiar face to the company Ayrton Dalrymple a previous regional Account Manager at Solmedia.
The courageous duo took off at 9pm at the base of Church Stretton hills and walked an amazing 27 miles across the Shropshire hills with an elevation of 1,000 ft, leading them to finish their walk at 9am in Minsterley. Nick and Ayrton powered through the night and not so pleasant weather climates, with just a head torch on, witnessing the sun both set and rise again in the morning. The pair are now taking a well-deserved nap and resting their sore and tired legs. Well Done Nick and Ayrton, incredible efforts!

Yvonne: One step at a time
Yvonne’s kicking off the evening putting her best foot forward and taking it one step at a time.

Jack: Mixing things up
Jack Murdock our lab chemist is taking a break from the lab and is out walking achieving and impressive 10.76Km in 3 and half hours.

Damian: Second Spin
Damian sets off on his bike again, riding through the rush hour traffic and dodging eager drivers on their way home from work. A short sweet ride home unwinding from the days tasks in the busy warehouse.

Ian Evans: Return Trip
Ian Evans takes his legs back home after a long days work on his feet in the warehouse, walking through the busy town of Shrewsbury and adding another hour to the clock, Ian was ready to put his feet up as soon as he walked through the door.
Day 1: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Victoria: Double Duty
Victoria burns up the multiple coffees she drank in the morning and switches the activities up with an hour weighted HiiT work out followed by a much needed cool down in the fresh air, making friends with all the animals along the way. A well deserved chocolate biscuit was enjoyed on return home!

Tyran: Lunchtime Walk
Tyran Wallach steps up for the purchasing department, opting for the first lunch time spot to walk and impressive 6.1Km in an hour.

Mike: Taking the Scenic Route
Another member of our warehouse team, Mike, tremendously putting in the miles with a 2 hour walk, covering 8km of the beautiful Shropshire countryside and achieving a staggering 12,000 steps!
Could there be an internal competition here within Solmedia on who can achieve the most steps? Stay tuned…

Zowie Watkins & Chester : Making A Splash!
Zowie Watkins our Customer Service Manager enjoyed a nice morning walk with her gorgeous companion Chester, walking fields and playing fetch for just over an hour, taking in the scenic views of Shropshire whilst avoiding getting wet from Chester, who particularly loved jumping in the streams.

Delores Dalrymple: Leading By Example
Delores Dalrymple our Internal Sales team member continued on from Ian’s walk with another hour and 40 minutes achieved walking the Haughmond Hill , walking a total of over 9 km.
Fun Fact: Delores is actually the organiser of this fantastic fundraising challenge having spent months in the lead up to the event planning and liaising with the team to create a 90-hour timeline of activities that will allow us to successfully achieve this challenge. Whilst also working closely with the charity Macmillan Cancer Support to set up the best platform for raising the funds and promoting the charity and their incredible work.

Ian Evans, another member of our incredible warehouse team took the roads of Shrewsbury with a brisk walk through the hustle and bustle of the town achieving an amazing 6,600 steps.

Damian, our Warehouse Assistant followed on from Oro’s walk with quick bike ride through Shrewsbury town before coming into work.

Oro Simpson: The Endurathon Starts Now!
A beautiful morning sunrise from our Regional Account Manager Oro Simpson, who kick-started the 90-hour Endurathon challenge at 4am, walking for 3 hours in the Shropshire countryside.
